Part 9 of 10 ยท Leadership lessons I wish I knew earlier

๐Ÿ“Œ 9 โ€” Resilience is optionality, not toughness

Resilience is often misunderstood as stubbornness or endurance.

But real resilience โ€” the type that keeps companies alive โ€” comes from optionality:

  • Cash buffers
  • Talent depth
  • Flexible cost base
  • Technology that scales
  • Diversified revenue
  • Strong governance

Toughness is a mindset. Optionality is a strategy.

As CFO, Iโ€™ve learned that resilience is built long before you need it.

You cannot be resilient at the moment you require resilience.
