Part 9 of 10 ยท Leadership lessons I wish I knew earlier
๐ 9 โ Resilience is optionality, not toughness
Resilience is often misunderstood as stubbornness or endurance.
But real resilience โ the type that keeps companies alive โ comes from optionality:
- Cash buffers
- Talent depth
- Flexible cost base
- Technology that scales
- Diversified revenue
- Strong governance
Toughness is a mindset. Optionality is a strategy.
As CFO, Iโve learned that resilience is built long before you need it.
You cannot be resilient at the moment you require resilience.
