Part 4 of 10 · Leadership lessons I wish I knew earlier
📌 4 — Cross-functional trust is a superpower
The fastest scaling companies I’ve known aren’t the ones with the most talent. They’re the ones where functions genuinely trust each other.
Trust speeds up everything:
- Decisions
- Delivery
- Innovation
- Feedback
- Recovery from mistakes
Conversely, the cost of mistrust is enormous — duplicated work, endless meetings, defensive emails, and silent escalation wars.
As a CFO, I see this clearly:
Companies don’t scale because of tools. They scale because of trust.
Build that, and everything else accelerates.
